New Fellowship announced for female writer-directors

February 4, 2014 / Beatrice Terry Fellowship new for 2014

Last night, at our Musical Celebration of Broadway to honor Neil Patrick Harris, we announced a very special new fellowship on offer at the Drama League in 2014.

The Beatrice Terry Fellowship supports a female writer-director, and includes a stipend to focus on the writing of a new work, followed by a professional reading at the Drama League Theater Center in Tribeca.  The fellowship is named in honor of Directors Project alumnus Beatrice Terry who passed away in 2012.

We proudly offer this fellowship in memory of Ms. Terry in collaboration with fellow alumnus and Tony-award winning director Michael Mayer (pictured above with Ms. Terry), and acclaimed playwright and Ms. Terry's widow, Gretchen M. Michelfeld.  More information about the fellowship can be found here, and applications will open later this year.

Gretchen M. Michelfeld and Michael Mayer announce the fellowship at the Drama League's 30th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway Honoring Neil Patrick Harris on Monday February 3, 2014.
